QUEER OLYMPICS

What if the queer body, taking homage to the greek concept of the ideal body, exemplified in the olympian athlete, could be venerated with sports and competition could be comfortably queer?

With its emphasis on gender binaries, It is common to find the queer body either problematised or excluded when it comes to sports.
In this story, we wanted to reimagine what the sports landscape could look like if sports were a place where people’s identifications did not create
a barrier to participation.

The Body Movements issue investigates intersectionality within sport in three core parts: Utopian Arenas, Eyes on the Prize, and Beyond Sports.
